CARE & SUPPORT

At Christ Church we use our Deacons as a group of men and women who exist to serve the building of our church community through meeting needs. We practice Christ’s command to love our neighbor as ourselves. If you would like to inform our Deacons of a need, or have a need in which they may serve you, please contact the following people:

MEN’S SUPPORT

These are small gatherings (8 or less) of support and prayer built around the challenges of those facing deep needs, including difficult relationships, job issues, aging, working through our pasts, and many other daunting life-stages. Currently meeting 2nd and 4th Wednesdays.

WOMEN’S SUPPORT

These women gather in small groups of support and prayer built around those facing deep needs, including challenging relationships, job struggles, aging, working through pasts, and many other daunting life-stages. Groups are limited to eight or less, and encourage a firm 6-month commitment to each member.

MEN’S RECOVERY

Men who gather weekly to share grace, prayer, wounds, stories and hope in small, confidential trust-groups with their brothers who are battling brokenness and ongoing struggles. As Christ-followers, we do not define ourselves by addictions; rather, we bear the image of the Most High God. Following the scriptural mandate to confess our sins to one another, we confide in a few for mutual support, accountability and encouragement and healing, naming addictions, be they prescription drugs, pornography, sex, money, status, anger, or others: nothing is unredeemable in Christ.

WOMEN’S RECOVERY

Christian women do not define themselves by their addictions; rather, they bear the image of the Most High God. They gather to share grace, prayer, wounds, stories
and hope in small, confidential trust-groups with sisters in our church family who battle brokenness and ongoing struggles. Following the scriptural mandate to confess our sins to one another, we engage in confidential discussions of mutual support, accountability encouragement and healing.
The name of addictions may be prescription drugs, or pornography, or sex, money, status, anger, or others; no matter: nothing is unredeemable in Christ.

GRIEF/LOSS

Ongoing throughout the year, 13-week, 2-hour support groups are offered using the Grief/Share program for individuals suffering from the challenges of a Grief Journey.

WIDOWS & ELDER MEMBERS

We are intent on caring for those who might find themselves becoming less visible in our community as they age, looking after their needs, including the need to feel connected and prayed for, and they are attentive to supporting the maintenance of daily life.

CONSTRUCTION/RESPONDERS

These people make themselves available to assist others in need, including repairs, plumbing, electrical and transportation emergencies, even changing a light bulb.

COUNSELING REFERRALS

For those seeking professional counseling services.

BENEVOLENCE/CARE RESOURCES

Our church family is not prepared to develop our own food bank or homeless shelter, but we maintain great relationships with neighboring agencies that are doing this work very well.

SICK/SHUT-IN/HOSPITAL/HEALING

The team makes regular visits to these important members of
our church family, with a goal of encouraging them through news, prayer, listening, helping, reading, flowers, and administering communion.

PRAYER

Two-by-two, we visit members who have requested prayer, often received in the form of notes in the offering boxes
